Who we are

LocalJokes is a local comedy directory covering Central Florida. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site and what we do with it.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address when you sign in. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic account information from Google such as your name and email.

Content you provide: listing and profile details, bios, links, shows and lineups, gig posts and applications, booking inquiries, messages, and ratings you submit.

We aim to collect only what we need to run the directory. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the site.

How we use your information

To operate the directory, sign you in, publish the listings and content you choose to make public, route gig applications and booking inquiries, compute reputation signals, and keep the service safe and working.

Audience ratings are de-identified

When you rate a comedian after a show, we store your rating so the same person cannot vote twice, but we display ratings only in aggregate. We do not show who rated whom.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers to run the site, including Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting), Vercel (hosting), Google (only if you choose Google sign-in), and, if and when paid plans launch, a payment processor such as Stripe.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of people using the service.

Public information

Listings, profiles, shows, and reviews you publish are public by design so that audiences and bookers can find them. Please do not include private information in public fields.

Information from public sources

Some early listings were compiled from publicly available business information and are marked as unclaimed. If a listing is about you or your venue, you can claim it to control what appears.

Your choices

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your information by contacting us. You can sign out at any time.

Children

The service is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and some listed content is intended for adult audiences.

Security, retention, and changes

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure. We keep information for as long as needed to run the service or as required by law. We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
